Pretty Good Numbers

I have no idea what to write. I told myself I would write for a half hour every day, and since I feel a little burned out on my novel I've come to my blog, but after starting a couple posts I couldn't follow through on, I'm just writing for the sake of keeping my goal. Just put on some music - Ingrid Michaelson. She comes up on my pandora station all the time. Which makes sense, since I keep 'liking' her songs. An attractive woman, Ingrid. She's got that librarian look going on, just like Krista. Of course, Krista actually is a librarian. So, win for Krista.

I feel like God wants me to write, but I don't know why. I think I write well, but I wonder where these things I put down are going to end up? It would be nice to believe my thoughts are going to be published, and I could make a living off of that, but that seems unlikely. Statistically, at least.

How many people are working on their own novels, out there? If it's 1 out of every hundred people, that's 3 million people in the US. let's say that only a tenth of those actually send their 'book' to a literary agent per year. That's 300,000 'books' that get sent out to be published. I'm not a bad writer, probably in the top 50% of those books. So then there's 150,000 of us. I wonder how many books are published each year. Hm, 288,355. Half of those are probably text books and children's books and things like that. That makes 144,177. They don't all make money writing, but they get published. Those numbers actually sound pretty good. Alright. Tomorrow I'mma start working on my book again tomorrow.

     Thanks, logic.

     You're welcome, Taylor.
